Help Kids Love Numbers
Our charitable mission is to help kids love numbers so they can handle the math in real life.
How Do We Do It?
We make math part of the family routine at home.
We send parents a fun, new math problem every day by email, on our website, and on our free app with Bedtime Math. Targeted for kids ages 3-9, it begins with a quick, fun set-up story, followed by three math problems at three levels of challenge.
Whether it’s flamingoes, chocolate chips or roller coasters, kids can see the math in their favorite topics. Research has shown Bedtime Math improves kids’ math performance with effects that last for years.
We make math the cool thing to do after school.
Our Crazy 8s math club is designed to get elementary school kids fired up about math. Unlike the competition-oriented clubs out there, Crazy 8s has an energy and playfulness that can appeal to any kid – not just those who already love math.
With activities like Glow-in-the Dark Geometry and Bouncy Dice Explosion, kids see that math is approachable, tangible and fun. Research has shown that Crazy 8s reduces math anxiety for elementary school-age kids.
We make math hands-on and engaging at school.
Fun Factor is our new curriculum for the K-5 classroom, developed in consultation with Columbia Teachers College. It features dynamic math activities that align to standards and address key concepts to meet the needs of all learners.
Our professional development provides teachers with the tools to take math beyond screen time and worksheets, giving students an opportunity to experience math class in a whole new way.
Who Are We?
Bedtime Math is a nonprofit operating foundation funded by private donations. These resources, along with all proceeds from founder Laura Overdeck’s Bedtime Math book series, come back into the foundation to fund our free programs. Bedtime Math does not make grants to other nonprofit organizations or to individuals.
